A Millennial's Guide to Caregiving Book
My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. She had a lumpectomy, radiation treatment and completed chemotherapy and was proud to ring that bell! She was in remission for 4 years until her cancer returned in 2009. Determined to beat cancer a second time, she underwent many rounds of chemotherapy, and tried various treatments. Her cancer started to metastasize to her lungs, kidney, and bones. As her body failed her, I was right by her side through the ups, the downs and every turn as her advocate and primary caregiver.
(My Mom celebrating her 50th birthday. Her breast cancer returned a few months later.)
In this book, "The Millennial's Guide to Caregiving," I'm telling my story as a breast cancer caregiver starting at the age of 21-33. I want to share my insight, advice, provide tips, and help inspire others on their journeys as caregivers. It's not an easy role, but it is the most fulfilling.
